Community Watch

York Crime Reduction and Community Watch Office provides support, advice and information to residents in the York area on all aspects of community safety and crime prevention. Through a range of practical measures we aim to prevent crime, assist the Police in detecting crime, and to reduce crime and the fear of crime.

As part of our work we provide the following services:

• Information and reference packs for residents, victims of crime and repeat victims of crime
• Low cost personal and property security items including:
• Personal Safety Alarms
• Home Security Devices including timer switches, portable home, door and window alarms and property marking equipment
• Cycle Security items such as locks, bike alarms and tagging equipment
• Computer Locks and Alarms and more....
• Long and short-term loan of security equipment free of charge to those on benefits / low income
• Free Security equipment to repeat victims of crime
• Free Personal Safety Advice and Home Security Checks
