National Community Safety Network
The National Community Safety Network (NCSN) is a practitioner led organisation supporting those involved in promoting community safety/crime reduction throughout the United Kingdom. It was established in 1995 as a small group of like-minded professionals meeting to provide support for the new emerging profession of "community safety officer" and has now grown to represent nearly 500 members and organisations within the statutory, voluntary and private sectors.
The network's mission is to :
- Give a national voice to practitioners working to promote safer communities in both the statutory and voluntary sectors
- Influence national policy and practice in the field of community safety
- Support the professional development of community safety practitioners
- Promote joint working amongst relevant agencies and networks in the UK and Europe
Further information can be obtained from NCSN on their website at www.community-safety.net or by emailing membership@community-safety.net or telephoning 01244 322314
