Who Decides About Gates

An alleygating project can take a long time from caption to finish and therefore the Burglary Task Group takes a vital role in making sure that all partners are working together to reach the best possible solution. It can be a complex process as the City of York Council are legally bound to go through a number of consultations to decide who is eligble. The Burglary Task Group provides advice on secure styles of gates, ideas for refuse cleansing, or basic items such as whether we want locks or codes. It also helps to prioritise where alleygating schemes are going to be put in place.
