Child Index

Child index is a database that holds the details of every child from 0-18 years in the City of York. The database also holds details of any agency that may be involved with that child and enables agencies to log any concerns. Its aim is for agencies to share information about a child to ensure effective and efficient practice in a co-ordinated approach at the earliest opportunity in line with ECM (Every Child Matters) and the 5 outcomes.

YISP - Youth Inclusion Support Panel

Youth Inclusion Support Panel works with children and young people aged 8-13 and those closest to them via referrals. It works towards prevent offending behaviour or those at risk of being drawn into offending behaviour. It is a multi-agency panel on which we sit.

Nipper

A database held solely by Safer York Partnership for the areas of York and Selby. The information held on the database is of young people who come to the notice of the Police for low level anti-social behaviour. When the Police have cause to speak to a young person about their behaviour, their details are taken. This in turn is then fed into the 'Nipper Database' which triggers a letter sent to the parent/carer informing them that the Police have spoken to that young person and the reason for this.
