The City of York Council aims to make York a safer city with low crime rates and more attractive city. It has high opinions regarding the city’s unblemished crime and safety record and are utilising all available funds to reduce issues such as the numbers of:

 - volume crimes, for example burglary,
 - violent crimes,
 - road traffic collisions, and
 - first time entrants into the criminal justice system.

York Pride Action Line


Operated by the City of York Council, the York Pride Action Line allows members of the public to report quickly and conveniently various anti-social incidents within their community or around York for action by the council's employees or partner organisations.

What Incidents should be Reported to York Pride Action Line / Customer Contact Centre

As a guide the following incidents should be reported to the York Customer Centre on 01904 551 550

  • Graffiti
  • Illegal / obstructive parking
  • Abandoned vehicles
  • Damaged / faulty street furniture
  • Fly Tipping
  • Littering
  • Fly Posting
  • Stray animals / animal related problems
Noisy Neighbours / noise related incidents should be reported to the Council Environmental Protection Team on 01904 551 555
