Burglary Campaigns

The Burglary Task Group run a number of public information campaigns, informing the public of recent crime trends and ways to keep there property safe. A number of examples of these are on this page:

Allotment Crime

In recent years we’ve all become much more vigilant about the security of our homes, but at a cost that sheds are often the next best option, and next common option, for a thief. Due to this, the Safer York Partnership are now considering allotment and shed crime as a serious priority and are offering important advice, and some heavily discounted security products to help keep your shed and allotment’s secure.

Light up Lock up Campaign

The Light up Lock up Campaign allows a large number of York residents to take advantage of the free timer switches and energy saving light bulbs to ensure that their houses are not seen as vulnerable targets for burglars. Part of the scheme is to conduct patrols in York and identify vulnerable properties to their residents to encourage owners to 'light up and lock up'.
