25th October 2010 - CYNHW AGM

The annual general meeting for the City of York Neighbourhood Watch was held at Westfield Primary school,  Askam  Lane,  Acomb. A total of 35 co-ordinators /deputy co-ordinators attended and the meeting saw Mrs Jean Julian, Acting Chairman and Brain Frodsham, Treasurer, stand down from both their offices and the committee

There where six volunteers who expressed an interest to help take CYNHW forward and it was agreed that they would attend quarterly meetings. Superintendant Lisa Winward agreed to chair these meetings and a volunteer was found who was interested in taking over the treasurers role. It is hoped that these volunteers will form the new committee and help to drive CYNHW into the new decade where it should go from strength to strength.

The guest speaker for the evening was ACC Sue Cross from North Yorkshire Police who gave a presentation on Modern Policing in a Traditional way, the importance of Neighbourhood Watch and the support the police will give to it.

If any co-ordinators or deputies who did not attend the AGM  are interested in giving a little of their time to volunteering and assisting with the day to day running of CYNHW then they would be gladly welcomed even if this is only an hour or so every other week or when they can find time. The tasks are very easy to perform, i.e. stuffing envelopes with newsletters etc.

We are still looking for anyone else who may be interested in joining the committee.

If any of these roles appeal to you please contact the Community Watch office (01904 669072) for either further information or to register your interest.
