Safer York Partnership: Aims
- Make York safer for everyone at home, work and play.
- Bring people together who can make a difference to crime in York
- Coordinate, facilitate and negotiate to encourage and enable crime reduction plans and activities
- Promote all aspects of community safety
- Encourage the involvement of individuals, organisations and communities in the crime and disorder agenda
- Reduce the fear of crime by challenging public perception of crime and disorder
- Drive forward “Section 17” with City of York Council
- Secure funding from the regional Home Office so that local schemes and projects can be introduced and resourced. Satisfy Home Office conditions concerning project management, performance, monitoring, and financial control.
- Develop a sophisticated analytical capability from statutory, voluntary, business and community sectors to assist in the establishment of priorities and resource direction
- Practice an holistic approach to crime causes and effects
- Publicise progress and achievements
- Consult with the people of York on a regular basis
- Undertake self assessment to measure ongoing effectiveness
